Road trip to food camp!

Hello internets....
We are here...O-Ma- Ha! (accent on the last syllable if you're Mabel...like it's a Japanese steakhouse)......got here last night and had our first day of therapy with Mabel today. The van more than held up and we cannot put in to words the ecstasy of quiet children staring at a screen as we listen to the soothing voice of Terri Gross (Update! If you didn't know...John and Kendall Lawless gave us their minivan for the summer. Why? Because they are f-in' rad and ridiculously nice). The drive was looooooonnnngggg though and we are still recovering. Highlights included "missile silo on the right, Nico! Oh! And a pronghorn!" as we drove through Wyoming and a night in Laramee, WY...which no matter how adorable their downtown is (there were people parking their horses to go to the bar...no joke) one still can't think constantly of hate crimes and Matthew Shepherd as we sat down and had our vegan thai coconut soup. 24 hour buzz kill.....

Last night we got in late and caught lightning bugs with Nico to put on his nightstand. One can understand how people can truly believe in unicorns, fairies, and Donald Trump seriously running for President. No joke.....no matter how much you tell a kid that there are bugs out there who have butts that glow after dark, nothing prepares them for the actual luminescent posterior of the firefly. He stayed up way past us watching the hum and fade of greenish glow from a cookie jar next to his pillow.....sigh.....

Today, he left with grandma and we had our first 5 session day of trying to feed Mabel.  Nothing like watching her levitating her high chair off the ground, spinning her head a full 360 and screaming "fuuuuuuuck yooooouuuuuuu" in a guttural voice to the spoons we presented her with. So glad we are here.  :)

It's kind of like emotional torture. Wait...not kind of like....it is! We also found out we are pretty much with her all day so, shit, say goodbye to our yoga, running, book summer and hello redheaded exorcist. Anyway.....more soon. We are wiped so we'll write some other time....

We miss Eugene.....so much we burned down Civic with our minds. Bwahahahaahahahaha!

Below.....pics from a gas station restroom in Burns, Oregon of "exquisite imitations" of fragrances and Nico preparing to bomb the train bridge in Laramee (he made a crowd of people wait to go up the ramp so he could run down in all his glory).
